Genesis 6 opens the door to one of the most mysterious passages in Scripture: the sons of God, the daughters of men, and the Nephilim. But instead of turning to theories, speculation, or popular ideas, there is one place we can turn for answers: Scripture.
The Bible gives us patterns. From Job to Genesis, Jude to 2 Peter, Scripture reveals that there is far more happening in the unseen realm than we can see with our natural eyes.
God established order, authority, and boundaries in the spiritual realm. But Scripture tells us that some spiritual beings rebelled against those boundaries, refusing to remain in their proper domain. Genesis 6 reveals the devastating result of that rebellion.
And this is where the story becomes even more powerful.
When Jesus died and rose again, He was seated at the right hand of the Father, far above every ruler, authority, power, and spiritual force. And Scripture says that we have been raised and seated with Him in Christ.
We are not fighting for victory. Jesus has already won.
But that does not mean we do nothing.
We have been given authority in Christ, and we are called to stand, remain faithful, and engage in the spiritual battle around us. As we begin to understand the unseen realm, we begin to see something even greater: just how far above everything Jesus truly is.
The deeper we go, the more we discover that the story is not ultimately about fallen angels, giants, or the darkness. It is about Jesus.
He is far above.
